Ms. Contreras-Martinez is involved in some of KT&T’s largest class actions and litigation matters, and she brings to her work the unique perspective that she gained working as a business executive in New York City prior to becoming a lawyer.
She worked in Citicorp’s Retail Bank Division for seven years before attending law school. While with Citicorp, Ms. Contreras-Martinez was an Assistant Vice President and Assistant Branch Manager in New York at the bank’s Wall Street and Fulton Street Branches. She was an authorized commercial lender as well as a licensed investment counselor. Her business experience has given her special expertise in applying legal strategies to complex business issues.
Ms. Contreras-Martinez earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Sociology from Harvard University and her J.D. degree from New York Law School. During law school, she was recognized in each of three consecutive years by Who’s Who’ Among American Law Students in its 11th, 12th, and 13th editions.
Fluent in Spanish, Ms. Contreras-Martinez active in the Florida
Association of Women Lawyers and the Miami-Dade County Bar Association.
